The Suppression of Hump Instability inside a Pump Turbine in Pump Mode Using Water Injection Control

چکیده

The occurrence of hump instability in pump mode within a turbine poses significant challenge to the safe and stable operation Pumped Storage Power Plants (PSPP). To achieve more precise numerical simulations, this paper establishes weakly compressible model water based on Tait equation. Using model, it is discovered that onset closely linked an increase hydraulic losses induced by stalled rotation diffuser. Then, flow control approach employing injection into guide vanes proposed order suppress instabilities optimize region. findings reveal can mitigate losses, unstable structures, diminish pulsation amplitude diffuser, ultimately delaying emergence region lower mass conditions. This study helpful widening range turbines mode.
